To Port Melbourne

We have a night sailing for the trip to Tasmania, so there was plenty of time to catch up with close friends in Melbourne.

Fortified with tea and home made biscuits, the most complex navigation of the trip was ahead of us. I had to drive to Station Pier at Port Melbourne whilst avoiding the low overhead bridges on Montague Street. With the help of a guide given to us by our Seymour caravan park, I was able to adjust the Tom Tom suggested routes and we successfully made it to Port Melbourne without driving through the city, driving down streets shared with trams or coming across low overhead bridges. We did have to pay a toll (not an issue as my Queensland E Toll works here).

With plenty of time to kill till we can board the ferry, we headed to Brighton for a pub lunch and views of the Brighton bathing boxes the city skyline.

We're keeping our fingers crossed that the Bass Strait swell forecast of 1m to 1.5m comes to pass. The ferry commences boarding from 5pm.
